The Digging Pit is a vintage clothing reseller based in Denver, Colorado, operating an online store (the-digging-pit.myshopify.com) and a physical retail location. This policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard personal information.
We use the information we collect to fulfill orders, communicate with customers about purchases, operate our point-of-sale and inventory systems, and send transactional SMS notifications to internal staff about inventory events. The Digging Pit may send transactional SMS notifications to authorized staff and business associates for operational purposes — including inventory sale notifications, low-stock alerts, and high-priority "grail" item alerts. Recipients opt in by adding their phone number to the company's internal staff alerts list and may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by contacting ownership directly. Message and data rates may apply. We do not sell, share, or rent phone numbers collected for SMS communications. Phone numbers are stored on our internal servers and are not displayed publicly.
We share customer order information only with the service providers we use to operate the business: Shopify (storefront and order processing), Square (in-store payment processing), Twilio (transactional SMS), and shipping carriers. Each provider is bound by its own privacy obligations.
Customer data is stored within the systems of our service providers (primarily Shopify) and on our private infrastructure protected by HTTPS, authentication, and standard security practices. We retain order information for as long as needed to fulfill orders, comply with tax and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes.
